Testimony Poem:
Elsa Binder
-May 31st, 1942-
Yesterday was May 30th, 1942
The day my grandfather had passed away
This secret, kept away from my mother
Ignoring her emotional nature
Soon she started to badger one another
Until the truth came out
Mother holding her liver and us knowing why
Dora, taken away from us
Mother getting a bad case of gallstones
Never to recover from them
I owe so much to aunt Pepa
Her help in this horrible time
Pepa, helping mom out of bed and on to her feet
Never so happy to meet an aunt
Like Aunt Pepa
The day my grandfather had passed away
This secret, kept away from my mother
Ignoring her emotional nature
Soon she started to badger one another
Until the truth came out
Mother holding her liver and us knowing why
Dora, taken away from us
Mother getting a bad case of gallstones
Never to recover from them
I owe so much to aunt Pepa
Her help in this horrible time
Pepa, helping mom out of bed and on to her feet
Never so happy to meet an aunt
Like Aunt Pepa
